ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PERIOD NATURAL SHELL GOLD & SILVER PIQUE EARRINGS c1870
A pair of antique natural shell drop earrings, with beautiful carved designs decorated with finely engraved and inlaid gold and silver faced piqué decoration.
A very collectible & extremely wearable pair of Victorian earrings!
CONDITION
: signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Small amount of piqué loss - see pictures. Wires a little distorted, of no real consequence (one could do with securing). A few expected nicks/scratches to shell.
DATE/MARKS
: Around 1870. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS
: Drops 38 x 14 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT
: Approx. 3.0 grams.
