DELTA Dolce Vita Medium Rollerball Pen Flame-Orange Body & Silver Details - Such Luxury!
This pen was purchased as a collectable display item and presents like new in box. All original with hologram certificate of authenticity. Exterior box has a slight rip in the corner as shown in photo. Comes with its original ink cartridge installed, but it is mostly dried out and needs a fresh cartridge. This takes inexpensive Delta 8900 cap-less refill ink.
(Note that you will see that it's not easy to photograph the brilliant color and contrast of the orange resin. In real life, it is a nice, bright, medium flame-orange color - very bright, sunny, and attractive.)
This Italian pen maker has created a magnificent work of art with the Delta Dolcevita. The Dolcevita collection (meaning "sweet life" or "the good life") is presented in special terra cotta orange and black resin which is entirely handmade from a solid bar of brilliant golden-orange pearlized resin. It is completed with a hand-chased sterling silver accent ring based on a famous Pompeian ruin, and a rolling clip. The medium rollerball has a wide, comfortable grip for composing the finest of manuscripts.
The pen arrives in a bright orange cardboard box. Inside the box is a plush presentation case covered in black velvet on the outside, and tan and black velvet on the inside. The presentation case includes the pen along with a small booklet extolling the glory of Delta, and the Dolcevita collection. Finally, a hologram-imprinted certificate of authenticity completes the package.
The pen itself is big and beautiful. A solid shiny black resin cap with silver metal trim, and a bright flame-orange marble resin body with a black tip and its metal trim. The black caps of Delta instruments are all individually numbered sequentially to roll off the assembly line and give an indication of the age of the pen. The main cap-ring is made from 925 sterling silver, hand engraved in a reproduction of an old Roman decor featured in paintings from the ruins of Pompeii. There are also some hallmarks on the silver ring. This silver central ring really does look antique, and certainly reinforces the air of opulence this pen exudes.
The pocket clip is platinum plated, and features an actual roller at the end to help it on and off your pocket, providing extra protection for those expensive shirts and suits. Yes, it works rather well. The pen is definitely substantial in the hand. It’s a bit shorter than average, with a comfortable heft and a wide cap. This all combines to give you the feeling you have a real handful of pen as the rollerball glides ink across the page. The grip remains good even though the resin body is silky smooth and shiny. And there's nothing quite like using this and catching glances of that flame-orange marbled body as you write. It's hard to say whether this pen is luxury, jewelry, or both. One thing's for sure, with this pen you'll always feel like a million bucks!
