EARLY ANTIQUE ENGLISH SILVER GOLD STUART FOILED CRYSTAL EARRINGS c1720
A pair of antique English, solid sterling silver earrings, set with matching pink foiled Stuart Crystals, with original cypher wire. Will have been adapted from cufflinks or buttons in antiquity.
Production of this style originated in England under the silent support of the monarchy after the execution of King Charles I in 1649. His Loyal Stuart followers wore Stuart crystal jewelry bearing his initials, miniature portrait, or lock of hair, a tradition that carried on in to the 18th Century.

: Very, very Good. Hook wires old additions.
Some signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Some foil discoloration.

: Around 1700/20. Not marked.
