    Description

    Helmet SSh-40 of the war years. The exact time of release of SS-40 helmets can be determined by an ink stamp in the back of the helmet, but when it is not preserved, the second sign of a helmet for war is a stamped asterisk on the visor of the helmet, see photo 5. This helmet was apparently undergoing factory repair in the late 40s with the replacement of the comforter and the strap: this is evidenced by its fastening with clasps and the structure of the dermantin on the comforter, later the strap was simply stitched into the fastening bracket. The external color is native, since the outlines of the star in front of the helmet have been preserved.
